![]() ![]() ![]() Additionally, his boss could fire him if Maddie keeps up with her rebellious streak. The problem is that her dad is one of the main people who developed the program. The heroine, or protagonist, Maddie, is a rebellious teenager who wants to stop the madness. Middle Ground takes place in the year 2050, a time where electronics have brainwashed the human race to have their lives based solely on computer time and to avoid human interaction. Characters Justin and Maddie are really unique because their personalities are well rounded and multidimensional- they turned out better people at the end of the story and were capable of change. Though the author eloquently writes her story and distributes a great amount of details, something that really stands out to me is the message and the characters' development throughout the story. Middle Ground by Katie Kacvinsky, the sequel to Awaken, is a fantastic story, with thorough details, independent but vulnerable characters, and a storyline which pieces together writing that gets better with each turn of a page. Review: When you live in a world of technology that is only beginning peak of its potential, only one book makes us truly wonder about where technology can lead us, where the steady rate its development is going. ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() In Little Secrets, Marin is rich (you’ll hear about that a lot,) and successful – a hairstylist to the Stars, which I secretly would love to be even though I have no inclination to do hair, even my own. It’s just in his best interest if he stays loyal. Now, if my husband cheated on me I would lose my mind as well, but in a much different way. I would tear the space-time continuum to shreds until I got him back. And if someone kidnapped him I would LOSE MY FUCKING MIND. Obviously, I know having a pet and having a child is not the same same, but I love my dog more than anything. And no I don’t have any biological children of my own, but I do have a dog and that’s basically the same thing… * waits for mothers to scream at me about how it’s not the same thing at all…* This book is basically about two of my greatest fears – a cheating husband and a kidnapped child. Little Secrets has done nothing but convince me even more that Hillier is one of the best psychological thriller authors out there. It made such an impression on me that I’ve picked up her work a few more times, but being that my TBR pile is so fucking huge this is only the second book of hers I’ve gotten around to actually reading and not just looking at on my shelves. I’m a fan of Jennifer Hillier even though I’ve previously only read one other book by her – Creep. ![]() ![]() ![]() OL19663620W Pages 138 Partner Innodata Pdf_module_version 0.0.19 Ppi 360 Rcs_key 24143 Republisher_date 20220819225344 Republisher_operator Republisher_time 421 Scandate 20220811013903 Scanner Scanningcenter cebu Scribe3_search_catalog isbn Scribe3_search_id 9780785197737 Tts_version 5. ![]() ![]() Access-restricted-item true Addeddate 18:01:31 Associated-names Rodriguez, Robbie, artist Renzi, Rico, colorist Cowles, Clayton, letterer Autocrop_version 0.0.14_books-20220331-0.2 Boxid IA40652413 Camera Sony Alpha-A6300 (Control) Collection_set printdisabled External-identifier ![]() ![]() That alone is a good reason to give it a listen, in my view. Nevertheless, the story is creative, the narration is very good (Christopher Lane really does a good job with the Swedish accents), and the characters are believable. But since most of the world is against it too, I'm not sure now necessary it is to beat readers over the head with it. The authors are against the death penalty that seems clear. That is mostly not the case here, happily. ![]() The problem with a "message book" like this is that the authors' viewpoint tends to take center stage, and the story takes a backseat. ![]() If you don't mind that, the story is entertaining. Be prepared for a pretty blatant anti-death penalty message without a lot of subtlety. In other ways it's less good, as there's not as much of a mystery to the story as there was in the first book. In some ways it's even better, as the characters are now a little more familiar to both the authors and the readers. Listeners who enjoyed Roslund & Hellstrom's Three Seconds will likely find the followup to be just about as good. ![]() ![]() “We need you to help make this world a better place for your little brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, cousins, whether they’re here yet or not.” ![]() “It is an exciting time to be Indigenous,” he said, addressing the graduates. I don't like reading books with absolutely no love story-I have to read about someone falling in love-yet I love it when books have a detailed plot yet still have a well-developed love story. The book did not lean too heavily in either direction. Brody struck the perfect balance between Sera and Zen's love for each other and the rest of the plot. I love that: this book is so much more than just a love story, but the relationship is an integral part of the book. Unforgotten is so many things, but at its heart it's such a great love story. I think it's interesting how authors all have their own take on the mechanics of time travel. The time-travel aspect of the story was really well-developed. I love historical fiction, so to have part of the book occur in the past made me enjoy Unforgotten even more. ![]() Unforgotten starts out with Sera and Zen living in 1609. There was so much going on in this book, and Brody wove it all together seamlessly. It's a combination of time travel, sci-fi (Sera and Kaelen were created, not born) and mystery. It was every bit as good as book one, and I can't wait for the next book in the series!
